FTL: Full Truck Load shipping

FTL or “full truck load” means that your freight will fill up an entire truck. This is the standard when companies typically ship bulk amounts. It is often chosen when a company has 10 or more pallets to ship, when the cargo is high risk or when the expedited shipping is required.

LTL: Less than Truck Load shipping

For those shipping smaller items or items that won’t fill an entire truck, an LTL shipment is the way to go. If your freight only takes up a quarter of the truck, you only pay a quarter of the cost for the truck. The rest of the truck is loaded with shipments from other companies that are also saving money on their smaller shipments.
